Making complex party-rental operations simple to book

Anjoma Zone needed a storefront that could handle the realities of party-rental operations: date-sensitive inventory, conditional pricing, delivery area logic, and Square checkout. Starting in August 2025, TrueDevs built and has been continuously refining a platform that turns organic search and ad traffic into confirmed bookings — guided by real user behaviour, not guesses.

    Overview

    Anjoma Zone

Anjoma Zone is a Southern California party rental provider serving 4 counties with an 80-product catalogue of tents, tables, linens, bounce houses, and event equipment.

    Vision

What the client set out to create

A dream of a storefront that could present the full catalogue while reflecting the operational complexity behind every order — turning organic search and ad traffic into actual bookings, not just browsing.

    Challenge

What made this hard to get right

    Availability is operational, not cosmetic

Every order has to account for dates, inventory quantities, and ZIP-level delivery constraints across 4 counties.

    Pricing has real business rules

Duration, delivery zone, and add-on selections all affect the total — customers need a guided flow that surfaces only relevant pricing.

    Approach

    How we addressed the problem

Two-phase ordering for reliability that scales

Every booking goes through a two-phase pipeline: reserve inventory first, then process payment. If the payment gateway lags or a background job is slow, the order still completes. The architecture decouples what the customer experiences from what happens behind the scenes — ensuring no booking is lost to a timeout.

    Data-driven iteration, not guesswork

Rather than shipping and hoping, we instrumented the platform with analytics and session recordings from day one. Every refinement — from checkout friction to search relevance — was guided by real user behaviour. The platform evolves as the business does, with each iteration built on evidence, not assumptions.

    Solution

    What we built

    A guided rental configuration engine

A step-by-step flow cross-referencing inventory, date ranges, and ZIP-level delivery rules to present only relevant items and pricing — surfacing the right choices without overwhelming customers.

Resilient order processing with zero revenue leakage

A two-phase order pipeline reserves inventory before processing payment, with double payment verification ensuring every completed transaction is valid. If analytics or email notifications lag, the customer still gets their confirmation — the business never loses a booking to a timeout.

An admin dashboard that turns data into decisions

Operators manage leads, track orders, and monitor inventory through a single dashboard — replacing the manual coordination that used to happen across spreadsheets and phone calls. Session recordings and analytics surface UX bottlenecks so every iteration is guided by real behaviour.

    Technical depth

How it works under the surface

How it works under the surface

Next.js 15 App Router with TypeScript throughout. Algolia powers product search with ImageKit CDN. Square handles payments via temp-order drafts, promotions, and server-side webhook callbacks with signature verification. Redis caches rate-limited lookups. Sentry monitors the fault-tolerant pipeline. Session recordings and analytics drive iterative UX improvements informed by real user behaviour.

    Outcomes

    What changed after launch

A platform that competes on both reach and conversion

SEO-optimised catalogue pages and targeted Google Ads campaigns feed into a booking flow built to convert — not just attract. Data-driven UX refinements, guided by session recordings and analytics, steadily improve the path from search result to confirmed order. The result is a platform that meets the market's standards for speed, discoverability, and ease of use, not just the client's previous baseline.

Operational visibility that sets a new standard for the business

Lead management, order tracking, and inventory oversight consolidated into one admin interface — replacing the fragmented workflows that previously slowed the team down. Exceptions stand out, routine operations run themselves, and the team has the data they need to keep raising the bar for customer experience.

    Testimonial

    What the client says

“What once started as a dream has now become a reality through hard work, dedication, and persistence. The website is live and we were able to see the final outcome.”

    Project journey

    How the work unfolded

    1

Phase 1: Building the core booking engine (Aug–Dec 2025)

Mapping the rental lifecycle — catalogue structure, availability rules, pricing dimensions, delivery zones — and building the two-phase order pipeline with Square payment integration.

    2

Phase 2: Launch and initial traction (Jan 2026)

Platform launch with live inventory, SEO-optimised catalogue pages, and Google Ads integration. First real bookings validated the flow and surfaced the first UX refinements.

    3

    Phase 3: Data-driven refinement (ongoing)

Post-launch iteration driven by analytics and session recordings — optimising conversion paths, adding abandoned-checkout recovery, and deepening the admin dashboard based on how the team actually works.
